Best Fall Ever!

Yesterday was the first frost of the season. This has been one of the nicest Octobers that we can remember. After another beautiful sunrise the crew cleaned up cores and thatch off of the porch row...

Kids parade by the hard working employees.

One of Jeff's many protests.

Neil's stories are so funny Nathan and Jeff don't realize he isn't shoveling.

Nathan works while Neil enjoys Jeff's tangent about spear fishing and trapeze artists. (I'm not making this up. It was really discussed.)

Another great sunrise!

Pomfret

Tim and I attended a sports turf workshop at the Pomfret School in Pomfret, CT. Despite the rain we had a wonderful day. Speakers from the UConn turf program, a tour of the facility and Tim's favorite - lunch in the cafeteria.

10/12/2011 Video

Altough it is October 12th, there are still a lot of plants to be enjoyed around the club. All the pictures in the video are from this morning. Also, the grass is still green and the courts are playing well (rain expected tonight).

Aeration Tines

Recent blog entries on aeration of the grass courts have shown the equipment we use. The machinery enables us to choose different tines for different situations. Coring or solid, length, diameter, steel hardness - all are factors in choosing the right tine.
