Summer

The hot and humid weather continues! June 6 was the last significant rain storm at Longwood. It is 90 degrees almost every day and if it is in the high 80's it seems like a cool day. The crew is still hard at work keeping the grass courts alive and playing well. Hand watering the courts is our most important task, with the entire crew helping out. Check out the links to the right to learn more about heat stress and turfgrass.

Whoops - I thought I was on the Comedy Channel! Glad you enjoyed the fresh corn - Tim, please minimize your input - else you'll begin to display a starch belly.

Kudos on the grass from my cousins who are playing in the Father Son tournament - best ever!!

Looking forward to next week! I'll be entertaining on Monday night during the F-S cocktail party as part of a group of musical giants. You'll see my normally hidden creative side - way better than my tennis.
