Ryegrass Roots, 3/27/2013

Roots on this ryegrrass plant from court 18 are healthy.  The picture is not great but the roots are thick and longer than my hand.  I couldn't get my trowel deep enough into the soil to find the bottom of the roots - the plants wintered well.  Click on the picture to get a better view/closeup.

Grass Court Seminar

On Monday March 4, 2013 grass tennis court managers met in Providence, RI.  This was their second meeting ever, the first being at LCC in 2010.  The education ran from 8 am to 5 pm with turfgrass educators/researchers from across the US and England leading the seminars. Attendees included representatives from most of the grass tennis clubs in the US (including LCC's David Driscoll and John Gallagher).
