Poa to UMass

On Thursday Tim went on a trip to UMass to deliver 30, 2 inch plugs of Longwood's Poa annua. Dr. DaCosta and grad student Lindsey are doing research on winter injury of Poa annua and creeping bentgrass. Our grass samples will be subjected to different temperatures, tested for acclamation rates and physiological factors that affect the plants ability to cope with the different temperatures.

Nice pictures of Zoo Mass - were either of you there when Zeta Nu was still allowed there as a frat? I had two friends there and it was so crazy that the President of the Frat was thrown out of his own frat due to his unpaid bar bills!!

Ah well - college hijinks. Anyway, you guys should be proud of your alma mater, despite some of the recent bad press. The uninformed don't understand that UMass profs often teach at Amherst and Williams, as well as the fact that many of the profs in EE and Comp Sci teach at both MIT and UMass Lowell. Plus, UMass Dartmouth is one of the two top schools in Marine Biology in the whole US due to its close affiliation with Woods Hole (the other is UCSD).

So - go get'em Minutemen (my wife is a UMass grad as well).

What are we going to do for our club closing party?

Beers at Noonan's? Hamburgers with mustard and Junior meals at Fred's? Hog jowls, mustard greens, black eyed peas at Larry's - with Natty Lights? Take out White Castle burgers with cokes at Kevin's?
Salad, rice and guava smoothies at Tim's? Fried catfish, six different kinds of shrimp and sweet potato pie at Tony's? Mashed, baked, fried, scalloped and sauteed potatoes at Gallagher's? Nothing at Kim's (on budget)? A square meal at Steve's?

Help me out here guys.I'm willing to make a delicious baked French toast with Challah bread for a breakfast treat - as long as others fill in with the accouterments such as bacon/sausage/ham. Just let me know - you hungry beasts.

Yours in humor, and respect.
