Topdressing

Some close-ups of the sandy loam topdressing that is put on the courts. This is done at different times a year, especially after aerating and verticutting. It is then worked into the sward with a heavy mat. http://lccgrounds.blogspot.com/2008/09/topdressing.html for an earlier entry on topdressing.

Where is John's comment? I was sure he'd react to the term 'sward'!

Just got back from San Antonio late Saturday - just getting caught up now.

I was fooled by the usage of "sward" for sure - not a term which is used loosely.

"There was was a sward swallower from Cape Cod who performed acts which were generally viewed as odd .. "

Oops - wrong use of the word sward.

Never mind.
Ooops -
