2008 - Ready to Go!

The Grounds Department at the Longwood Cricket Club is ready to begin the 2008 season. Returning are: Charlie Bartlett, Tim Burns, Wilson Smith, Andrew Walsh, Ben Polimer, Brandy Mirth and Victor Maillet. This is a veteran crew that has loads of experience.

Our main focus in the spring is renovating and preparing the 19 clay courts. Longwood typically has the first clay courts open in New England and this year should be no different with a April 19, 2008 scheduled opening. To accomplish this, every good weather day must be utilized, with most other projects put on hold.

Another big project this spring is getting the pool landscape ready for swimming season. All new sod will be installed with a new irrigation system and various new plantings. The new deck will look great!

We are ready to go! Any questions please let us know. Also let us know how you like the blog.
